|| Cala Blanca
Cala Blanca is one of the Ciutadella Area Beaches and is 5 Kms from the city of Ciutadella, between Cala Santandria and s'Aigo Dolça and next to the village
of Cala Blanca. Its name come from the colour of the sands which are virtual surrounded
by a rocky area on top of which are villas and some tourist shops and cafes amidst pine woods.
To the rear of the beach are dunes and further tourist facilities. The beach is however rather
exposed to westerly winds but enjoys a gently sloping beach and calm water conditions.
This sea inlet is characterized by being u-shaped, it is very small, the sandy ground
is surrounded by rocky areas which are not very high, on the top of which there are touristic
and resiential buildings, at the rear you will find a system of dunes and some touristic
buildings as well, some small but thick pine woods in the surroundings, it is exposed to
the wind from the west, a gentle breeze, quiet water, the slope is gentle, and it is very
crowded by local visitors and tourists.
Accessby car is easy as the beach is well signposted. There is a free parking close to the beach
and Cala Blanca can also be reached by public transport. The easy of access does make the beach
crowded with visits and locals at times.
| Cala Carbó
Cala Carbó (Coal Cove) is 13 Kms from Ciutadella between Cap de Ferro (Iron Cape) and Punta Roja and another of the Ciutadella Area Beaches
This isolated sea cove sea is not very big and is surrounded by dark rocks of the hills of Bassa Verda (Green Lake).
The beach is made up mainly of pebbles and is exposed to the winds from a westerly direction.
This area of the coast is best avoided if the winds are strong as it is difficult to find a safe shelter from the strong winds.
Access by car is easy to near by Cala Algaiarens. Here there is a charge for parking as the beach is
in the Àrea Natural d'Especial Interès. From here a walk of 1.5 Kms brings you to Cala Carbó.
| Cala des Degollador
Cala des Degollador or sa Platja Gran is part of the urban coast of Ciutadella Area Beaches, 10 minutes walk from the square del Ajuntament.
This beach is between Port de Ciutadella and Punta des Gegant and close to Castell de Sant Nicolau and the village of Son Oleo.
The beach is 500 meters deep but small and narrow. However the beach is of sand and it is backed by a promenade It is exposed to the winds
from the southwest. Despite its urban location it is generally not too crowded.
Access by car is easy just follow the signs and there is a free parking area close to the beach.
You can also reach this beach from the Plaza Europa in Ciutadella via a pleasant walk though the streets of this urban area.
| Platja de Macarella
Platja de Macarella is a Ciutadella Area Beaches 14 Kms from the city between es Castellet de
Macarella and Punta de na Xulla. It is one of the Ciutadella Area Beaches in the Àrea Natural d'Especial Interès of the south coast of
Ciutadella and is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Menorca. This undeveloped cove
not very big and it is surrounded by high, pine clad cliffs. Adjacent to the beach there is
a wetland inhabited by eels and sea turtles a canyon and a stretch of the Camí de Cavalls which gives a
wild feeling to this sandy beach. The water is crystal clear water and the slope is
gentle. The the swell very moderate but despite this the beach does not get very crowded .
Adjacent to the beach is the smaller cove named Macarelleta. It is accessed on foot over the western headland shown in the photo.
Accessibility to both by car is easy just following the signs to the free private car. From there
there is a one kilometre walk to these beaches.
|| Cala en Blanes
Cala en Blanes is 4 Kms from Ciutadella between Punta de Cala en Blanes
and na Marí. Close by is the village of Torre del Ram and nearby the tourist attractions at Los delfines,
Cala Piques, Cala en Front and Cala en Brut.
This beach is oriented toward the south east and is very sheltered from southerly winds. However it is
quite small and does become very crowded as it is popular for its Picnic area and is well served with tourist
facilities and its proximity to Ciutadella gives visitors easy access to lots of leisure facilities.
The beach itself is sandy and the surrounding area is rocky with low cliffs covered in vegitation.
Access by car is straightforward and Cala en Blanes is well signposted and a private car park provides
free parking. You can also reach this Ciutadella Area Beaches by public transport.
|| Cala'n Bosch
Cala'n Bosch or Cala en Bosch as it is also known is 12 Kms from Ciutadella. Close by is Marina de Cala en Bosch and
Punta de sa Guarda as well the villages of Cap d'Artrutx and Son Xoriguer. This beach is the first
that the visitor will find in the south coast of Menorca, coming from west and next to Cap d'Artrutx
If the weather is good you can see the coast of Majorca from this beach of
fine grained white sand. Cala'n Bosch is exposed to the winds from the south but
normally enjoys a gentle breeze. This resort is part of the biggest coastal stretches of developed coves in the Ciutadella Area Beaches.
Access by car is straightforward and Cala'n Bosch is well signposted and a private car park provides
free parking. You can also reach this beach by public transport.
|| Cala en Brut
Cala en Brut is located between Cala en Forcat and Clot d'en Barceló 6 Kms from Ciutadella. In this
area is the village of Torre del Ram and the residential areas of Cala en Blanes and Los delfines.
This stretch of the coast coastal between Cap de Banyos and Port de Ciutadella also includes Cala en Blanes.
This inlet it is very small and attract crowds of young people. There is no beach here just large rocky areas for
sunbathing which have access by steps to the calm waters below. This area is noted for excellent diving opportunities.
Access by car is straightforward and Cala en Brut is well signposted and a private car park provides
free parking. You can also reach this beach by public transport.
|| Cala en Forcat
Cala en Forcat is situated on the same stretch of the coastline as Cala en Blanes just 7 Kms from Ciutadella,
It is situated between Cap de Banyos and ses Dobles and next to the village of Los delfines and the tourist
areas of Cales Piques and Cala en Brut. These two beaches are popular with divers as is Cala en Blanes,
Cala en Forcat beach is small and sandy and surrounded by rare vegetation.
Access by car is straightforward and Cala en Forcat is well signposted and a private car park provides
free parking. You can also reach Area Beaches by public transport.
|| Cala en Turqueta
Cala en Turqueta is 10 Kms from Ciutadella between Punta des Tambors and na Foradada and
close to the Talaia d'Artrutx. The beach derives its name from Turkish pirates who used
this area for raiding the Iland in days of old.
This isolated beach is not very big and is surrounded by the high cliffs and headlands. The cliffs are covered by thick pine
woods and is another of Ciutadella Area Beaches which is part of the Àrea Natural d'Especial Interès of the southern coast of Ciutadella.
The beach is semicircular with aline of rocks in the middle which divide the beach of fine grained white sand into two.
Another attraction is the crystal clear water, the gentle sloping beach. The beach is not too crowded by locals nor tourists.
The access by car is easy following the signs to this Ciutadella Area Beaches. The private car can be left on a free parking area at

for about 120 vehicles and you will have to pay to reach the beach and park in the surroundings. From the car park
a 15 mins walk takes you to the beach about 800 metres away.
