A drive of 50 kms (31 miles) each way
Time About an hour to an hour and a half, plus any stops each way
One look at the map of menorca
and you will see that the only major road on the island is the Me-1 which runs from west to east
joining the two cities of the Island.
From Ciutadella drive to the roundabout with the prancing horse and take the C-721 to the Me-1. As you leave the Ciutadella area you pass the football ground and
industrial estate on your left and after about 4 kms (2.5 miles) you will see the carpark for
The Naveta des Tudons
to your right.

After driving about 9 kms (5.5 miles) you will get your first view of the central mountains as you pass
Castillo Menorca. Continue on to Ferreries and then Es Mercadel for your first view of
Monte Toro.
The Me-1 bypasses Es Mercadal and then look out for the turning on your left which takes you
on to Kane Road ( Cami de Kane ).
This old road takes you up a winding twisting hill to a beautiful picnic area overlooking Sa Penys de S'Indio,
named after its likeness to an indian brave.
Contiuing along Kane Road will take you north of Alaior and through countryside to the Me-7.
Turn right at the T junction and head into Mahon. as you enter Mahon follow the signs for Centre Cuitat
then keep right at the mini roundabout to reach Placa de S'Esplanada. Here you will find an underground car park.
Park your car and take time to explore Mahon.
On your return journey take the Me-1 to Alaior. After 4 kms (2.5 miles) you will see the turning on the left to
the historic sites of Talatà de Dalt.
Continue along the Me-1 back to Cuitadella.
