Earlier this month I returned from Menorca having updated myself on a number of factors which I will shortly be adding to the website. However I wanted to share these with you first.

All inclusive hotels are killing the resorts in Menorca. Guests at these hotels appear never to leave the confines of the hotel which is sad for the resorts as shops cafes and entertainments are suffering.

It is also sad for the visitors for they are missing so much of the magic of this beautiful island.

I and my family and friends always stay in a villa and eat in the local restaurants which we believe makes our visits special. Next time you go to Menorca help preserve the local community and get out and about, you will not regret it.

In case you have not visited Menorca this summer you will find the Airport has changed if you hire a car. There is a new car park for hire cars. As you leave arrivals turn to the right and walk past the taxi rank and go through the tunnel to the lifts to the hire car facilities.

If you are a smoker you will find that little has changed. The Airport still has two smoking areas, only for departures, but still room for smokers as you leave the terminal.

Restaurants still appear to provide room for smokers on terraces and bars often accommodate smokers in their premises.

I mentioned that we always chose a villa as our accommodation and this year we were taken to a very special villa by some friends. The Villa was between visitors and not looking at its best. It has five bedrooms, all en suite and magnificent views of the surrounding countryside as it is set well back from the road and very rural.

I just could not keep it to myself so shot a few frames of video so you can see for yourself and maybe plan a special occasion for friends or family in this enchanting villa.
