The first prehistoric site to become a park and charge an admission fee is Torralba d'en Salord three kilometers south of Alaior on the road to Son Bou.

To be fair to the authorities they have created a car park and coach park and erected arrows to guide visitors through this large site.

The site contains the remains of a complete prehistoric village with a taula, two talaiots and a Cyclopean Wall and reconstructed burial caves.

Cala en Turqueta

A beautiful sandy cove. It is fairly secluded with few amenities such as the car park 5 minute walk from the beach. On route you should stop at the Talaia d'Artruxt for breathtaking views out towards the neighbouring island of Majorca.

Cala Pregonda

To the west of Fornells on the North coast of Menorca in a protected area of natural beauty. The beach is about 20 minutes walk from Binimella. Cala Pregonda offers a delightful stretch of sand surrounded by ususual rocks and hills cloathed in Tamarisk and Pine trees. The beach is undeveloped with no facilities. However this special beach is worth the effort of a visit if only for a refreshing swim.

Cala Mitjana

On the road south from Ferreries take a left just before you reach Cala Galdana. Follow the rough road down to a free car park. A 5 minute walk brings you to this little known cove with pine clad low white cliffs. Snorkeling and swimming conditions are excellent and Cala Mitjana is close by. These beautiful beaches are undeveloped so come prepared.
